Greiz Overheating Error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Honda Greiz with 81,583 km is experiencing an overheating issue and an error code, suspected to be related to a bypass valve malfunction. A similar case suggested that a coolant leak might cause overheating, leading to the error. After further investigation, the workshop confirmed the error was consequential, with the root cause already resolved, and the bypass valve functioning normally. The error was reset without further issues or charges.

Interesting! They did a quick check, but didn't mention anything specific about a coolant leak. I'll ask them to double-check that. Was the coolant leak the direct cause of the bypass valve issue, or did it trigger something else entirely?

Well, from what I gathered (and I'm no expert!), the coolant leak caused the engine to overheat, which then triggered the bypass valve error. Basically, one problem led to another. Definitely worth having them investigate the cooling system thoroughly. If you didn't fix it, I'm pretty sure it could have led to engine stalling.

Okay, I understand. Thank you so much for the insight! I went back to the workshop and they found that the error was indeed a consequential error and that the root cause was already fixed. The valve was working normally. They reset the error and it didn't reappear again. They didn't charge me anything!

Hmm, that's not good. I've got a Honda Greiz as well, though I won't mention the year. I remember facing a similar issue a while back. The overheating, the error code... sounds familiar. In my case, it turned out to be a coolant leak that messed everything up. Did they check for any coolant loss or signs of a leak?
