GT86 Battery Sensor Issue

I'm having a weird battery issue with my 2012 Toyota GT86 (gasoline engine) at 82580 km. Weak starts, plus the lights are weak and sometimes flicker. Battery test suggests the sensor is bad. Anyone seen this, and could a bad sensor be the cause?

Hey, I had something similar with my GT86. I thought it was just the cold draining the battery, but the flickering lights are sus. Have you checked the battery voltage when the car is running? Should be around 14V. If it's lower, the sensor might be playing up.

Thanks! Can you say more about 'playing up?' What fixed it for you, and was it the battery sensor?

Sure. 'Playing up' means the sensor might be giving incorrect readings and messing with the charging system. Mine was more complex, but flickering lights and weak starts mean something's wrong with the battery or charging. Honestly, get it checked by a workshop rather than risk messing with it yourself.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. They confirmed the battery sensor was defective and needed replacing. Repair was 315€, including parts and labor. Thanks for the help diagnosing!
