GT86 gear shift indicator failure

Hi, I'm having a weird issue with my 2016 Toyota GT86 (gasoline engine). It's got about 184039 km on the clock. The gear shift indicator on the instrument panel is completely dead. Now it is not possible to engage the gears. The automatic transmission shifts erratically, and the gearbox slips. I can also hear grinding noises when it shifts. I plugged in my OBD reader and there's an error stored in the memory, but I don't know what it means. Any ideas?

Hey, I had something similar happen on my GT86. Is the gear selection display in the speedometer also without function? If so, it might be the same issue I had.

Yes, the gear selection display is indeed without function. What was the problem?

Sounds like the affected control unit is defective. You will need a replacement. In my case, it was also the control unit. It cost me about 1000€ at the workshop. I'd suggest taking it in to get it diagnosed properly and fixed.
