GT86 Oil Level Sensor Error
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Toyota GT86 is experiencing an oil level warning light and error message on the speedometer, indicating a potential faulty oil level sensor signal. The issue could be due to a defective sensor or a problem with the wiring and plug connection, possibly caused by vibration. A similar case was resolved by addressing a defective cable or plug connection, suggesting that checking these components or consulting a workshop might be necessary.

Wiring and plug connection, you say? Where exactly should I be looking? Any specific areas that are prone to failure or corrosion?

Yep, wiring and plug. Think of it like a dodgy Christmas tree light – sometimes it's not the bulb but the connection. Honestly, I didn’t have the patience to trace it myself. I just brought it to a workshop. They located a defective cable/plug connection, probably due to vibration. They quoted me 95€ for the repair, which seemed reasonable enough. Saved me a massive headache.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check the connection, but it sounds like a trip to the workshop is inevitable. At least now I have an idea of what to expect. Will let you know what I found.

Dude, sounds eerily familiar. I had a similar freakout with my GT86 not too long ago. Same oil light nonsense and error codes. You check the wiring and the plug connection to the sensor itself? That was my gremlin.
