GT86 System Readiness Check Issue

I'm having an issue with my 2012 Toyota GT86 (gasoline engine). It has about 25082 km. The system readiness check seems incomplete, with an error in the memory and on the speedometer. This happened after an OBD2 diagnostic. Any ideas?

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my 2018 BMW 3 series. After using an OBD2 scanner, the readiness monitors wouldn't complete, causing an error. Did you clear any codes or perform any resets during your OBD2 session?

Yes, I did clear some old fault codes. Could that be why the system readiness check is incomplete?

Yes. Clearing codes often resets the readiness monitors. The car needs to re-run its self-tests during normal driving conditions to set them again. It can be a pain with BMW. If the monitors still won't set after a reasonable amount of driving, a workshop visit might be needed to confirm everything's working right.

Thanks! It fixed itself. After driving about 100 km, the system readiness check completed, and the error disappeared. Repair cost: 0€
