GTR Brake Lights Failure
Summary of the thread
The brake lights on a 2011 Nissan GTR stopped working, accompanied by an error message on the infotainment system. A possible cause suggested was a faulty brake light switch. After visiting a workshop, the brake light switch was confirmed to be faulty, replaced under warranty, and the issue was resolved, with the error message cleared and brake lights functioning properly.

Thanks! I appreciate the brake light switch suggestion. Could you explain how to check or test it? I'm not mechanically inclined, so any guidance would be great.

On my BMW, the mechanic showed me the brake switch is near the brake pedal. If you're not comfortable, I'd recommend a workshop. I almost broke mine doing it myself. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks so much for your help! I took your advice and went to the workshop. The brake light switch was faulty, probably from when I tried adjusting it. They replaced it, and now it's working perfectly. The error message is gone, and the brake lights are working! The repair cost was 0€, covered by warranty.

I had a similar issue with my old 2014 BMW 3 series. My tail lights went dark suddenly! Sounds like a faulty brake light switch. Have you checked that?
