Heating and air conditioning problems in the 2015 VW Amarok diesel: experiences and solutions

Hello folks! I have a problem with my 2015 VW Amarok Diesel, almost 87500 km run. The heating and air conditioning no longer work properly, which is really annoying. With the last mechanic breakdown, I'm a bit hesitant to take it to the garage straight away. Is it possible that it's due to a fault with the electric auxiliary heater or the climate control system? Has anyone had similar experiences and can give me a tip on how the mechanics solved this for you? Please tell us!

Thanks! I am educated as a ships engine mechanic and cars/chainsaws/motorcycles are my hobbies but this is new to me… I’m usually quite carefull and always collect as much info as i can before i start a job and have most tools on hand, do you think that should be enough to not mess it up too bad? Going to a mechanic in Norway is expensive as fuck so I’d prefer to try it myself… Thanks!

Given your background and experience, you should be able to handle this task. Just make sure to follow the service manual closely and take your time. If you encounter any issues that you're unsure about, don't hesitate to consult a professional. Safety should always be your top priority. Good luck!

My parking heater cannot be unlocked with Carly. Why is that?

The Carly adapter may not have the capability to unlock a parking heater. This task usually requires specific diagnostic tools and expertise that a professional mechanic would have. It's recommended to take your vehicle to a professional mechanic to have the parking heater unlocked.
