Heating and cooling problems in the 2011 Citroen Ccrosser: Possible causes and solutions

Hey guys, does anyone know the problem that the air conditioning only blows warm air, the heating/cooling is insufficient and the A/C system is not activated? Suspect it could be the heat exchanger temperature sensor. My car is a 2011 Citroen Ccrosser, gasoline with 176058 km. Had a bad experience with my garage in the past, so I would like to hear your opinion/experience before I go back. Any info helps! Thanks in advance.

Hello, I am very familiar with this problem. My car, a 2014 Citroen C4, had similar symptoms some time ago. The air conditioning and heating were not working as expected and the A/C system seemed to be inactive. Afterwards, it turned out that the fault was in the cable/connector of the temperature sensor. This was subsequently diagnosed by my garage. They replaced the faulty plug connection and replaced the temperature sensor. After that, everything worked perfectly again. It's definitely a serious problem because it affects the whole heating/cooling system and therefore affects comfort and possibly safety. Better get it checked, it's worth it. I can certainly concentrate more on my rides now that everything is working smoothly again.

Hello, thanks for the quick reply. You seem to have had exactly the same problem. Do you remember how much it cost to replace the temperature sensor and repair the plug connection? And has anything similar happened since then or has everything been running smoothly since then? It would be great if you could give me some more information on this before I go to the workshop. Thank you very much!

Hello, no problem, you're welcome! Yes, the problem was indeed the same. As for the cost, I remember it cost about €155 to repair the faulty wire/connector of the temperature sensor. Not exactly a penny, but since then everything has been great again. The fault on the temperature sensor of the heat exchanger was then also rectified, and since the visit to the workshop everything has been running great. No more similar problems and everything is working as expected again. I hope this helps you!

That's really helpful, thank you! Of course, €155 isn't exactly cheap, but if everything works again afterwards, it's worth it. It's good to know that everything has been running smoothly for you since then, that reassures me a little. Now I'm a bit better prepared before I go to the garage. Thanks again!
