Heating and cooling problems with a 2007 Toyota 4Runner: experience and advice wanted

Hi guys, I'm worried about my 2007 Toyota 4Runner with a gasoline engine and 235146 KM on the clock. The heating and cooling are not working properly and the fan is not working as it should. I suspect it could be due to a malfunction of the electric auxiliary heater. Have any of you ever had similar problems and can share your experience of having it repaired at the garage? Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with my mechanic last time and would be grateful for any advice. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I had the same problem as you with my 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser. It was actually the electric auxiliary heater that was faulty. My heating and cooling also worked strangely, just like yours. And of course the blower was also affected. Last time I was in the garage, the entire auxiliary heater had to be replaced. It's not a game, I can tell you that. But don't worry, after it was replaced, my car worked like new again. I hope this helps you. Good luck with your 4Runner!

Hey thanks man. Your input really helps me. This auxiliary heater replacement doesn't seem to be cheap. Do you remember how much you had to pay for it? And have you had similar problems since then, or is everything in the green zone?

Hey, of course I remember the cost. I had to pay 350€ for it. Quite a lot for a part like that, eh? But since replacing the electric auxiliary heater, everything has been running like clockwork, no more problems. So it's definitely worth it!

Great, thank you! Despite the price, it seems to be the best choice. So I'll take my 4Runner to the mechanic on Monday and hope that it runs normally again afterwards. You have really helped me. Thanks again and take good care of yourself!
