Has anyone dealt with heavy steering and wheel vibration linked to steering sensors? My 2023 Cadillac Lyriq electric (100375KM) is acting up. The steering wheel feels unusually heavy and shakes while driving. Pretty sure the steering sensor might be failing, but after a bad experience with my last mechanic, I want to know what to expect for diagnosis and repair. Anyone had similar symptoms with their car? What was the actual problem and repair cost?

Good news, my CT6s steering sensor repair has held up perfectly since getting it fixed. The shop did a thorough job with the coding of the steering angle sensor that was faulty, and I paid 195€ for the complete calibration work. The traction control and electronic stability systems are working flawlessly now. The automotive sensors in modern vehicles are quite interconnected, so having a proper diagnosis and repair is crucial. The shop made sure to recalibrate all related systems after fixing the steering sensor. No alignment problems or stability issues have occurred since the repair was completed. I took my Lyriq to a certified dealer last month after reading these responses. The repair process was smoother than expected. The steering column was partially disassembled to access and replace the faulty angle sensor. Total cost came to 780€ including parts and labor. The traction control system needed a complete recalibration after the sensor replacement. They kept the car for about 6 hours to ensure all electronic systems were properly synchronized. No alignment problems or steering issues since the fix. Worth mentioning they found slight wear on the steering rack, but it wasnt serious enough to need replacement. The heavy steering and vibration completely disappeared after the repair. Really glad I addressed it promptly instead of waiting for more problems to develop.
