HHR IAT Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
The 2007 Chevrolet HHR experienced a check engine light and a drop in power, with diagnostics indicating an issue with the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor. The problem was suspected to be caused by a faulty sensor or related wiring issues. After considering advice to check connections and voltage, the IAT sensor was replaced, resolving the issue and restoring the car's performance.

Voltage? I haven't checked that. Where exactly should I be measuring the voltage, and what should it be reading? I don't want to mess anything up.

I am not entirely sure about the correct voltage, and honestly, you probably need more advanced diagnostic tools to measure correctly. In my experience with the Megane, it was indeed the sensor after all. I recommend taking it to a workshop; they can diagnose the problem quickly.

You were right! It was the IAT sensor. They replaced it, and the car runs perfectly again. Cost me 155€ but worth it! Thanks for the advice!

I had similar issues with my old Renault Megane: check engine light, rough idling. It turned out to be a faulty sensor. I would advise you to check all the wires and connections first. Is the sensor getting the correct voltage?
