Hiace brake lights error

I had something similar with my Hiace. Drove me nuts! Was it just the brake lights themselves or the tail lights too? For me, it was intermittent at first, then just packed it in completely. Have you checked the switch by the brake pedal?

Just the brake lights. Tail lights are fine. Where exactly is that switch located?

It's right up by the brake pedal, pretty easy to spot. Thing is, I fiddled with mine for ages, and it seemed like a simple fix but it kept coming back. Eventually I just took it to a workshop. Turned out to be something goofy with the electrics and saved me a ton of frustration.

Thanks for the tip. Turns out I accidentally knocked the switch while working under the dash. Pushed it back in and it's all good. Brake lights working and error message is gone.
