Hey, thanks for sharing that. Sounds spot on, my Vauxhall had basically the same problems. Just curious, do you remember roughly how much you paid for the coils and spark plugs job? Also, has everything been running sweet since then, or have you spotted any other niggles?

Hey there! Actually, I need to correct my previous post, while I initially thought it was the ignition coils and spark plugs in my Insignia, it turned out to be just a knock sensor malfunction. I got it sorted last week at my local garage, and it was a much simpler fix than expected, just a dodgy cable and plug that needed replacing. Only set me back 95€, which was a relief! The car's running like a dream now, no more jerking, weird noises, or power loss. Fuel consumption's back to normal too. Honestly, I'm kicking myself for not getting it checked sooner! Sometimes the simplest fixes make the biggest difference, right? If you're still having trouble with yours, I'd definitely recommend getting it looked at. These knock sensor issues can be pretty straightforward to fix when caught early. Let me know how you get on! Cheers!

Thanks for the update! Just got back from the mechanic myself and you won't believe it, turned out to be the knock sensor in my case too! The whole ordeal was way less painful than I expected. Found this really decent mechanic through a and he spotted the issue straight away. Cost me about £85 for the fix, just needed to replace the sensor and sort out some dodgy wiring. Two hours later, my Astra was running like new again. No more jerking or power loss, and that annoying noise is completely gone. Plus, I'm not hemorrhaging fuel anymore, which is a massive relief with these prices! Really glad I didn't put it off any longer. Sometimes you just need to bite the bullet and get these things sorted, right? Thanks again for all your help, definitely saved me from stressing over this one! Cheers!

Hey there, I had very similar issues with my 2015 Vauxhall Insignia (petrol) last year. The symptoms you're describing match exactly what I experienced, power loss, jerking, and that annoying engine noise. After taking it to my garage, it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil and worn spark plugs causing the misfires. They had to replace two ignition coils and all spark plugs. The whole job took about 2 hours. This isn't typically a super serious issue, but it definitely needs fixing soon as it can damage your catalytic converter if left unchecked. Plus, that excessive fuel consumption will just keep getting worse. I've put about 30k km since the repair with no issues. My car runs smooth now, and the fuel economy is back to normal. If you need a mechanic recommendation, I'd suggest getting a second opinion from another certified Vauxhall specialist. Hope this helps!
