Highlander Brake Pedal Feedback

I've got a 2020 Toyota Highlander with a gasoline engine and about 177440 km. I've been experiencing some strange feedback from the brake pedal. Diagnostics point towards a possible undervoltage issue affecting the hydraulic brakes, but I'm not entirely convinced. The brake system, especially the brake calipers, feels off. Anyone else had a similar experience with their disc brakes?

Interesting. I had a similar issue with my 2016 Volvo XC60. The brake fluid seemed fine, but the pedal feel was just… wrong. Did you check for any ABS codes? Maybe related to that? It was a weird sensation, almost like the brakes were fighting back.

ABS codes are clear, which is why I'm leaning away from a purely mechanical issue with the brake system. The 'fighting back' sensation is a good way to describe it. So, with your Volvo, was it ultimately the ABS, or did you find something else causing the weird brake pedal feedback?

Nah, turned out to be some funky stuff with the brake calipers. Voltage issues can mess with all sorts of things, and it might be impacting how the calipers are engaging. Best to get it checked out by a professional; these things can be tricky. Especially with modern brake systems.

Appreciate the insight. I'll schedule an appointment with the workshop to have the calipers thoroughly inspected, focusing on potential electrical interference. Cost 240€, undervoltage was the culprit. Thanks again!
