Honda City Brake Light Error
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Honda City hybrid owner experienced a brake light failure error, confirmed by the error memory as a bad brake light switch. Despite no recent changes to the brake system, the issue arose unexpectedly. The problem was resolved when the owner discovered the brake light switch had been accidentally dislodged while vacuuming under the dash, and clipping it back in cleared the error without any repair costs.

No visible damage that I could see. Everything looked clean when I took a quick glance. Could it still be user error if everything appears normal?

Possible. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty batch of switches. Get it checked at a workshop; it's a safety issue.

Thanks for the advice! Turns out, I had accidentally dislodged the brake light switch while vacuuming under the dash. Clipped it back in, and the error's gone. No repair costs!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar electrical issue with my old 2018 Opel Astra. Brake light errors popping up out of nowhere. Was the switch itself visibly damaged or corroded?
