Honda Fit Overvoltage Faults
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Fit is experiencing electrical issues, including overvoltage faults and random system failures, with a weak battery during startup. The problem is suspected to be caused by a heavily discharged or defective battery, which can lead to overworking the alternator and potential damage to other components. Replacing the defective battery resolved the issues, restoring normal function and preventing further complications.

No battery light specifically, but the dashboard looks like a Christmas tree sometimes with all the errors popping up. Was it the battery in your case, or something else entirely? I'm kinda hoping it's just the battery since that's the easiest fix, right?

Yep, similar symptoms to what I had. Turned out my battery was toast, and it was causing the alternator to overwork itself trying to compensate. That overvoltage fried a bunch of stuff. Best to get it checked out by a professional, could save you a bigger headache down the road.

That's what I was afraid of. I took your advice and brought it to the shop. Turns out the battery was heavily discharged and defective, just like we suspected. They replaced it and cleared the fault codes, and everything seems to be back to normal now. Total cost was 290€, which isn't too bad considering the alternative. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar experience with my old Opel Corsa a few years back. Random failures, weird lights, the works. Was your battery light on at all?
