That's a great idea! I haven't tried another phone. If another phone connects, does that mean it's a compatibility issue? And if so, is there anything I can do about it, short of buying a new phone?

If another phone connects, it suggests a compatibility issue. There isn't much you can do besides waiting for a phone software revision or a Honda Connect revision that might address the issue. I took my Astra to the workshop. They said the issue was caused by incorrect pairing. They reset the Bluetooth module, which fixed it.

Thank you so much! My wife's phone connected instantly, so it looks like you nailed it. I'll book it in with Honda. Hopefully, it’s a quick fix like yours was. Just picked it up - they also told me incorrect pairing with the end device was the issue. Cost me 45€, but at least it's sorted now!

I had a similar problem with my 2016 Opel Astra. My phone wouldn't pair, and I got error messages. I thought it was a glitch, but it was more subtle. Did you try another phone? It could be a compatibility issue.
