Honda Jade Exhaust Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Jade with a gasoline engine is experiencing a warning light and smoke during acceleration, suspected to be caused by a faulty exhaust back pressure sensor. The issue may stem from the sensor's wiring or connections, which should be checked first. A malfunctioning sensor can disrupt the engine's fuel trim, leading to incomplete combustion and smoke. The problem was resolved by replacing the exhaust sensor, restoring normal function.

Nah, not really. Where exactly is the sensor located? And would a faulty sensor cause noticeable smoke like that?

Sensor's usually near the catalytic converter. And yes, a bad back pressure sensor can mess with the engine's fuel trim, causing incomplete combustion and smoke. Get it checked by a shop.

Cheers, you were spot on. Workshop confirmed it. Replaced the exhaust sensor and it set me back 245€. Back to normal now!

Smoke and a warning light definitely points to an exhaust issue. Have you checked the sensor's wiring and connections? Could be a simple fix before you condemn the sensor itself.
