Honda Jade high fuel consumption and stalling
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Honda Jade owner reported increased fuel consumption, engine stalling when idling, a check engine light, and smoke during acceleration. These issues were suspected to be caused by a defective mass air flow (MAF) sensor. After consulting a workshop, the MAF sensor was confirmed to be faulty and was replaced, resolving the problems.

Thanks for the tip! How can I check the MAF sensor? Is it something I can do myself, or do I need special tools?

It's doable yourself, but you'll need some basic tools and knowledge. If you're not comfortable, or uncertain about what you are doing, I strongly suggest you consult a workshop. It does indeed sounds like a mass air flow sensor defective problem – better safe than sorry!

Thanks! I took it to the workshop, and indeed, the mass air flow meter was defective. Repair cost 365€. Runs much better now!

Sounds familiar. I had similar issues with my Jade – not sure about the year model of yours, but the symptoms are quite similar to what I experienced. Check your MAF sensor, which is basically the mass air flow sensor. Is the air intake clean, or is there any visible crud around the filter? When was the last time you changed yours? Worth taking a look before you assume it is a faulty mass air flow meter!
