Honda Life brake lights failure
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Honda Life experienced brake light failure, with diagnostics indicating an issue in the brake light circuit. Although the bulbs appeared fine, the problem was suspected to be related to the brake light switch. Upon inspection, it was discovered that a loose connector on the brake light switch was the cause. Re-securing the connector resolved the issue, restoring the brake lights and clearing the error without any cost.

That's interesting. I haven't checked the switch for corrosion specifically. Where should I be looking for corrosion, and how can I test the switch?

On my Corsa, the corrosion was visible on the connector pins of the brake light switch. Visually inspect the switch and its connector. To test it, you'll need a multimeter to check for continuity when the brake pedal is depressed. Given the error messages, a workshop visit might be a good idea.

Thanks for the tip! I checked the brake light switch like you suggested. Turns out the connector was a bit loose after I bumped it while getting groceries, and that triggered the error! Pushed the connector back in, and everything's working perfectly now. Error's gone, and the brake lights are back. Easy fix, didn't cost me anything!

I had a similar issue with my old Opel Corsa. Error messages and failing tail lights. For me, it was corrosion on the switch contacts. Have you checked the switch itself for damage or corrosion?
