Honda Pilot Anti-Theft Alarm Error
Summary of the thread
A 2014 Honda Pilot is experiencing an anti-theft alarm error, with the alarm system failing to function. The suspected cause is a coding issue related to the optical locking system. A suggested solution is to check the battery and electrical system, as voltage drops can affect the alarm control module. Ultimately, the problem was resolved by addressing the coding issue, costing 45€.

Interesting. So, you think a weak battery could trigger a permanent error code and disable the entire system? That seems odd, but I'm willing to investigate. Did your issue present the same error?

Indeed, the system flagged optical locking malfunctions and was very persistent. I didn't catch the error code to be sure, but I would recommend taking it to a workshop to have the battery and the overall electrical system checked, if the light hasn't gone off.

Thanks; that's the plan. Turns out it was a coding issue activating the optical locking (indicators), it cost me 45€. All sorted now!

I had a similar alarm problem with my Pilot. Could be a dying battery causing voltage drops, which messes with the alarm control module. Have you checked the battery's health recently?
