Hyundai Eon Manifold Pressure Sensor Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Hyundai Eon is experiencing issues with the check engine light, reduced power, and increased fuel consumption, suspected to be related to the manifold pressure sensor. A hissing sound suggests a potential vacuum leak, which can cause incorrect pressure readings from the sensor. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected by a professional to diagnose and fix the leak, potentially resolving the sensor issue without needing replacement.

MAP sensor, got it! I haven't really dug in yet, to be honest. Just read the codes and that's what pointed me to the manifold pressure sensor. I did notice a hissing sound, though. What exactly was wrong with yours?

That hissing is a HUGE clue! A vacuum leak is a common cause for MAP sensor issues. The sensor is likely reporting incorrect pressure readings because of it. If the hissing is loud, it might be a large leak. It could even damage your engine if left untreated. I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop. My final repair bill was around 235€. They can properly diagnose and fix the leak before replacing the sensor if necessary.

Thanks! The hissing plus the sensor code makes sense. I'll take it to a shop and get it checked out. Appreciate the advice!

Whoa, sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms with my Eon. Check Engine light, sluggish response, and guzzling fuel. Could be the MAP sensor, which is the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor. It measures the pressure inside the intake manifold. What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?
