Hyundai H1 Active Hood Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Hyundai H1 is displaying an "Active hood fault" message, with the airbag light constantly on. A diagnostic tool indicates an error with triggered spring actuators, possibly due to a defective acceleration sensor. A suggestion was made to check the wiring harness for loose connections or corrosion. However, given the complexity and sensitivity of the system, it is advised to have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop.

Thanks! I haven't checked the wiring harness yet. Was hoping for something simple. Where's the sensor located on your Volvo? Might help me find it on my H1.

On the Volvo, it's behind the front bumper, near the headlight. But even if the wiring looks okay, given the spring actuators triggered, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. The system is sensitive, and you might cause more problems trying to fix it yourself.

Appreciate the advice. Wiring looks fine, so you're right. I'll take it to a workshop. Parts and labor will be around 315€, hopefully that'll fix it.

I had a similar issue with my Volvo V60. Same error message, airbag light, the works. Did you check the wiring harness to the sensor? It could be a loose connection or corrosion.
