Hyundai i10 Diesel Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Hyundai i10 diesel is experiencing power loss, rough engine performance, jerking during acceleration, increased fuel consumption, and a loud hissing sound. The engine light is on, and an OBD scan indicates a potential issue with the intake manifold flap control. The problem may be related to a faulty flap control switch, as a similar case was resolved by replacing this component. It is advised to have a professional workshop diagnose and address the issue to avoid further complications.

Yes, the engine light is on. An OBD scan showed a code related to the intake manifold flap control, so I'm leaning towards that. What was the issue in your case? Was it a faulty switch or something else?

Mine was the flap control switch. The symptoms were pretty much identical. I wouldn't mess with it too much yourself. It's a pain to get to, and you could end up making it worse. Take it to a workshop to diagnose and replace the switch. Cost me around 465€.

Thanks! I appreciate the insight. I think I will take it to a workshop. Knowing it was the flap control switch for you gives me confidence they'll sort it out without too much fuss. Hopefully, it won't cost me an arm and a leg!

Sounds familiar! I had something similar with my i10 diesel. Did the engine light come on? Could be the intake system. What makes you suspect the flap control specifically?
