Hyundai i30 rough running engine light
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Hyundai i30 with 138,565 km is experiencing rough running, especially at idle, with the check engine light on and reduced power during acceleration. The suspected cause is a mixture preparation error, potentially due to defective injectors. A similar issue was resolved by checking the injection valves/injectors, which were identified as the problem. A professional diagnosis confirmed the defective injector, leading to a successful repair.

Thanks for the quick reply! So, you think it's the injection valves/injectors? Was that the only symptom you had? And did you notice anything else, like any issues with the intake manifold or mass airflow sensor?

Yeah, injectors were the culprit for me. All the symptoms you described plus the light. The workshop diagnosed it pretty quickly, saying it was a known issue with some i30s. I'd suggest getting it checked professionally to be sure.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a mechanic, and you were spot on – it was indeed a defective injector. The repair cost me 515€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar issues with my i30. Rough running, check engine light... Drove me nuts! Have you checked the injection valves/injectors? Could be a defective injector causing a rich mixture.
