Hyundai i40 Combustion Misfires
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai i40 is experiencing combustion misfires, indicated by a rough-running engine, jerking during acceleration, and an active check engine light. The suspected cause is a defective fuel injector, which disrupts the air/fuel mixture in the engine. The issue was confirmed and resolved by replacing the faulty injector, costing approximately 515€.

I don't know which cylinder(s) are affected yet, but I suspect the injection valve or injector is defective. Could that be it?

Yes, a defective fuel injector is a very plausible cause for combustion misfires and your symptoms. The fuel injectors are responsible for spraying fuel into the cylinders, and if one is malfunctioning, it will disrupt the air/fuel mixture, leading to misfires. I ended up having the same problem, and it wasn't something I could fix myself, so I recommend getting it checked by a professional! It cost me around 515€ including parts and labor.

Thanks for the feedback. I took it to the workshop and it was indeed the fuel injector. The repair cost was 515€ like you said.

I had similar symptoms with my i40 (gasoline engine, not sure about the build year). When you say combustion misfires, do you know which cylinder(s) are affected? Misfires usually occur when one or more cylinders aren't firing correctly during the combustion process. Common causes are faulty spark plugs, ignition coils, fuel injectors or vacuum leaks.
