Hyundai ix20 AdBlue System Failure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai ix20 diesel is experiencing an AdBlue system failure, indicated by a warning message and an engine that won't start. The suspected cause is a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit, as the tank remains empty despite being topped up. A similar issue in another vehicle suggested potential problems with the pump or a blockage, and the recommendation is to have the system diagnosed by a workshop experienced in SCR systems.
Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yeah, I checked the AdBlue level; it's completely empty, even after topping it up. That's what makes me think there's a problem with the output. When you say 'similar', did yours also refuse to start? Was it actually the AdBlue system?

Okay, empty after topping up is definitely not normal. Mine didn't refuse to start, thankfully. Given the error messages and the no-start condition, it does sound like the AdBlue system is the culprit, potentially the pump or a blockage. I would recommend taking it to a workshop with experience in SCR systems. It might be a relatively inexpensive fix, perhaps around 250€, but it's best to get it diagnosed properly.

Thanks for the advice! I suspected as much. I'll get it booked in. I appreciate you sharing your experience.

I had something similar with my Hyundai i30 (diesel, of course). The DEF fluid light came on, and I got a service light as well. Did you check the tank capacity? It might sound obvious, but sometimes it's the simple things. Though, if it's preventing the engine from starting, that's a serious symptom. My concern would be whether the SCR catalyst is involved.
