Hyundai Matrix engine stalling power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Hyundai Matrix experienced engine stalling, power loss, and an illuminated check engine light after a fuel filter change. The initial suspicion was a faulty fuel pressure regulator, which was confirmed by a fault code. Replacing the regulator resolved the issues, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Fuel pump relay, huh? Interesting. I was thinking the regulator because I think there was a fault code logged after changing that fuel filter. Where's that relay located, and what symptoms did you see besides the light?

Yeah, the relay! I had a noticeable pressure drop and really rough idling. Honestly, I'm not the best with the specifics, but I'd say if you suspect the regulator and already see a fault code pointing that way, take it to a workshop. I wouldn't want you messing anything up.

Thanks a bunch for the input! Turns out it WAS the fuel pressure regulator; I must have messed something up during the filter change. A new one cost me about 45€. Runs like a charm now!

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Matrix. Check Engine light was on, and the engine was misfiring like crazy. Did you check the fuel pump relay? That was my problem.
