Hyundai Porter Overheating
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Hyundai Porter diesel is experiencing severe overheating and slow warming up. The coolant level appears normal, leading to suspicion of a faulty thermostat. A similar issue in another vehicle was resolved by replacing the thermostat, suggesting this as a potential solution. Taking the vehicle to a mechanic for a professional diagnosis and repair is recommended.

Water pump, eh? How would I know if the water pump is the culprit and not the thermostat? Is there a way to check it myself before taking it to a mechanic?

Honestly, I didn't bother checking mine on the Peugeot. Too much hassle. Just took it to the workshop, and they said it was the thermostat, map-controlled type or something. They replaced it, and the problem was solved.

Right, cheers. I'll probably just bite the bullet and take it to a shop then. Hopefully, it's just the thermostat like yours was. Thanks for the help!

Sounds like thermostat issues. Had similar overheating on my old Peugeot 307. Took forever to get warm and then would overheat. Did you check the water pump?
