i20 ABS Fault Lateral Acceleration Sensor
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai i20 is experiencing an ABS fault, with the ABS light on and failure of the system. The error memory indicates a lateral acceleration sensor fault. The issue might be related to the control unit, as suggested by another individual who faced a similar problem. A workshop inspection is recommended to confirm the diagnosis and address the issue, potentially involving a costly control unit replacement.

Interesting. I haven't replaced the steering angle sensor. What error codes did you get? Maybe that will help me figure out what's going on.

Yeah, it was a pain. I can't remember the exact code, but it had something to do with vehicle stability and the ECU. I took it to a workshop, and they said it was a faulty control unit. It was pretty expensive.

Thanks for confirming my fears. I'm probably going to a workshop for a detailed inspection. They quoted around 1000€ for a replacement. I appreciate your help!

Hey! I had a similar issue with my i20. I don't remember the year of mine, but I had ABS errors. Did this start after a steering angle sensor replacement?
