i40 Headlight Range Control Fault

Hi, I have a 2012 Hyundai i40 gasoline with about 60k km. I'm getting a headlight range control fault. The error is stored, and there's a warning light. The low beams are shining too far down or up. Has anyone experienced something similar?

Summary of the thread

A 2012 Hyundai i40 owner reported a headlight range control fault, with low beams misaligned and a warning light displayed. A similar issue was resolved by checking the servomotor, a common problem in adaptive headlights. The solution involved professional repair, confirming the servomotor as the cause.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey, I had a very similar issue with my i40. Is it possibly a defective servomotor in the headlight? Check the lighting system and electrical connectors too. The adaptive headlights are really sensitive.

Thanks! How did you figure out it was the servomotor? And did you notice any issues with light intensity?

Well, I didn't figure it out myself. I took it to a workshop. They said it's a common problem. I didn't notice any light intensity changes, just the beam direction was off.

Okay, thanks! I'll take it to a workshop then. I appreciate the help! Turns out it was exactly as you said, the servomotor. Cost me 1040€ to repair.
