i40 Tire Pressure Sensor Fault
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Hyundai i40 owner experienced a tire pressure warning light and error message indicating a 'sensor fault.' The issue was suspected to be related to the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor, possibly due to a depleted sensor battery after 168,685 km. After confirming that tire pressures were correct and the warning was inconsistent across tires, it was advised to have the sensor checked and replaced at a workshop, which resolved the issue.

Yeah, I checked the air pressure manually, and they're all spot on! It's not always the same tire; it seems to rotate between all four. So do you think it's definitely the sensor then?

Sounds like it. If the pressures are correct and the warnings are all over the place, likely the TPMS sensor. Best get it checked at a workshop. They can confirm the fault and replace the sensor.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to the shop, and you were right. Replaced the sensor; cost me 280€, but at least it's sorted now. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I've got an i40 too. Had something similar happen a while back. Are all your tires inflated correctly when you check them manually with a gauge? Is it always the same tire showing as low?
