Ibiza Headlight Cleaning System Problem
Summary of the thread
The headlight cleaning system on a 2000 Seat Ibiza with a diesel engine malfunctioned, alongside the windshield washer system. The suspected causes were a defective cable connection to the pump or a faulty relay. After inspecting the cable connections and finding no issues, a workshop confirmed the problem was a defective pump relay, which was then repaired.

When you say cable connections, are you referring to the headlight cleaning system pump itself, or are there relays involved that I should be inspecting as well?

Yes, I meant the pump connections initially, but it turned out the relay was also damaged. It's worth checking both. If you are not comfortable, I would suggest a workshop.

I inspected the cable connections as suggested and found nothing obvious. A workshop confirmed a defective pump relay. Repair cost me 165€. Thanks for the advice!

I had a similar issue with my Ibiza. Check the cable connections to the pump. It's a common failure point. It's like a fuse blowing; the system just shuts down.
