Infiniti JX Airbag Light Mystery: Real Owner Solutions
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Infiniti JX Hybrid owner is experiencing a persistent airbag warning light issue, suspected to be related to the airbag system. A similar case was shared by another owner of a 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid, who discovered the problem was due to a loose connector under the passenger seat after a service, which was fixed quickly and at no cost. The original owner plans to return to the service center to address the issue, suspecting it might be a similar problem, and will also check for any applicable recalls.

Thanks for your detailed response! My car currently has 5068 KM, and I just had it serviced last month. The warning light actually started flashing right after the service, which makes me a bit suspicious. I'll definitely look into the recall possibility that would be a huge relief if it's covered. I'll check my VIN and get back to you on that. Really appreciate the help!

Hey again! Thanks for the follow-up. Oh the fact that it started right after the service really rings a bell the exact same thing happened to me! In my case, when I took my QX60 back to the dealer, they found out that during the service, one of the connectors under the passenger seat wasn't properly reattached. You know how they sometimes need to move the seats around during service? Apparently, that's all it took to trigger the warning light. Sounds like you might be dealing with the same issue. My advice would be to take it back to wherever you had it serviced they should fix it for free since it started right after their work. In my case, it was a quick 15-minute fix, and they were pretty apologetic about the whole thing. But yeah, definitely still check those recall notices just to be on the safe side. Just keep in mind that with such low mileage (5068 KM is nothing!), it's probably not a major system failure more likely just a loose connection or something simple like that. Let me know how it goes when you take it back! Would be interesting to hear if it's the same issue I had.

Thanks so much for sharing that experience! You're absolutely right it makes a lot of sense that it could be related to the recent service. I just called the service center, and they've agreed to take a look at it tomorrow morning at no charge. They mentioned something about seat connectors too, so I'm feeling pretty optimistic now. It's such a relief to hear that yours was a quick fix. I'll definitely update this thread once I get it sorted out. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience it's helped me feel a lot less worried about the whole situation!

Hey there! I actually dealt with something similar on my 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid (basically the newer version of your JX). I'd say I have some experience working with cars, but I'm no expert. Lucky for me, there was actually a recall on the airbag system components, so I got it fixed completely free at my local Infiniti dealership. The warning light was exactly like what you're describing. The whole process took about half a day, and they were pretty efficient about it. Have you checked if your vehicle is under any recall? Could you share your VIN number? I can help you check if there are any active recalls for your specific model. Also, when did the warning light first appear? Did you notice any specific events that might have triggered it? Let me know these details, and I might be able to point you in the right direction!
