Insight Bumper Antenna Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Honda Insight hybrid is experiencing issues with the bumper antenna, leading to central locking problems, degraded radio reception, and the inability to start the engine without the key in the ignition. Diagnostics suggest a bad cable or plug connection as the cause. A similar case was resolved by addressing a faulty connection to the antenna at a workshop, which is recommended as a solution.

The symptoms you describe sound like what I'm experiencing. The car radio's reception has degraded significantly. What did you do to fix it? Were there any diagnostic procedures that were helpful?

Honestly, I didn't mess with it too much. It sounded like a pain and I didn't want to screw anything up worse. I took it straight to a workshop. They said it was a bad connection to the antenna, just like you suspected. Cost me about 95€ to get it sorted. Best money I ever spent!

Thanks for the info. Your experiences have helped a lot. Since our diagnostics match and it wasn't too expensive for you, I'll take it to a workshop to address the faulty connection. Thanks again for your time.

Wow, that sounds like a headache! I had something similar happen with my Insight. Is your radio reception also garbage? Mine was cutting in and out like crazy before I figured out what was going on. Started with just the key fob acting up, then the radio, then BAM, wouldn't start without the key. Super annoying.
