Insight Engine Stalling Fuel Composition Error
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Honda Insight with a hybrid engine was experiencing stalling at idle and a check engine light, with a diagnostic code indicating incorrect fuel composition. The issue could have been related to the fuel filter or the entire fuel system. A suggestion was made to inspect the fuel system components for damage, but it was ultimately recommended to consult a professional. The problem was resolved by addressing a faulty connection, leading to the vehicle running smoothly again.

Fuel economy's maybe a tad worse. But inspect the components? What am I looking for, exactly? Obvious damage could be anything, couldn't it? Like, if a squirrel had a chew on a hose?

It could be something simple, like a defective cable or plug connection on a sensor. But given the symptoms, and if you're not comfortable poking around, the error code could point to something the workshop can diagnose quickly. Likely repair cost will be around 95€. Perhaps it is best to take it to a professional.

Thanks for the input. Ended up taking it in, and you were spot on! Turns out it was a dodgy connection. They cleaned it up, reset the code, and it's running like a dream now. Appreciate the advice!

Incorrect fuel composition could stem from a few things. Has your fuel economy taken a dive lately? And when was the last time you visually inspected the fuel system components for any obvious damage?
