A 2009 Honda Insight owner noticed low brake fluid and strange feedback from the brake pedal. Possible causes include air in the system, worn brake pads, or a leak in the brake lines. I haven't checked the pads, no. Where should I be looking for leaks? I don't know much about brake lines. Are there any obvious spots to check first?

Okay, so, without getting too deep, follow the brake lines from the master cylinder (where you top up the fluid) to each wheel. Check connections and the lines themselves for wetness, indicating a leak. Seriously though, brakes are not something to mess with if you're not confident. Get it to a shop ASAP!

Thanks! I'll take a peek, but you're right, probably best left to the pros. Just got it back from the shop worn brakes were the issue, plus they topped up the fluid. Cost me 480€ including the brake inspection. Cheers for the advice!

Low fluid and weird pedal feel? Sounds like air might be getting into the system. Could be worn brake pads needing replacement, or worse, a leak somewhere in the brake lines. Have you checked your pads recently? Any warning lights on the dash?
