Insignia AC and Temperature Sensor Issue

Sensor calibration hasn't been checked yet. The temperature gauge appears normal. However, could an incorrect sensor reading truly disable the entire air conditioning system? It seems like an overly sensitive fail-safe.

That's exactly what happened with my Peugeot. The faulty sensor sent bad data which messed with the ECU. Honestly, if the gauge is otherwise fine, I’d just get it checked at a workshop. Could be a quick fix, or something more serious regarding the cooling system.

Thanks for the insight. I took it to the workshop. Turns out the air conditioning control unit was indeed the culprit. The defective temperature sensor and repair cost came to 980€ Appreciate the advice!

Strange. Had a similar issue with my old Peugeot 308, although it was an oxygen sensor. Did you check the sensor calibration? Maybe it's just a software glitch. Is the temperature gauge reading normally otherwise?
