Insignia belt tensioner malfunction

Experiencing a belt tensioner issue with my 2015 Vauxhall Insignia diesel at 115398 kilometers. The belt-handover no longer functions as intended. I suspect the defective belt bringer/handover. Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

Hey, I had something similar with my Insignia. Is it making a weird noise, like a whirring or grinding? Mine was driving me nuts for weeks before I figured it out. Was the tensioner pulley wobbly when you checked it?

Yes, there is indeed an unusual whirring sound from the engine, which seems to correlate with the belt's operation. When you say 'wobbly', could you elaborate? What specific aspects of the tensioner pulley should I examine to ascertain its stability?

Yep, sounds like the same issue. I'm no mechanic, but my mechanic said it was best not to mess with it too much myself. He recommended getting it to a workshop ASAP before it caused more damage. Could be the idler pulley too, but either way, it sounds like you need a professional to take a look.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. Based on your recommendation, I have decided to take the Insignia to a trusted workshop. They've quoted me approximately 455€ for the belt tensioner repair.
