Insignia Intake Manifold Flap Control Issue

Having an intake manifold flap control problem with my 2017 Vauxhall Insignia diesel. Symptoms: reduced engine power, rough running, jerking when accelerating, hissing during acceleration, and higher fuel consumption. Anyone else encountered something similar? Suspect the switch intake manifold control is defective.

I had something like that on my Insignia. Engine light came on, and it felt like I was towing a boat anchor. Check your intake system; could be related to the flap control motor. Does the engine misfire at all?

Yes, there's a distinct engine misfire now and then, especially noticeable during cold starts. The engine light is indeed on. Was your issue also accompanied by that hissing sound when you accelerate? What was the final verdict for you?

Yep, that hissing sound was there too, like air escaping. I'd get it checked at a workshop. Sounds very similar. Likely something with the intake manifold – it's not a cheap fix.

Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – the intake manifold flap control was indeed cactus. Cost me 465€ to get it sorted, but at least she's running smoothly again. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
