Insignia problematic steering

Experiencing an issue with my 2013 Vauxhall Insignia (gasoline engine). At approximately 92903 km, the steering has become problematic. Symptoms include increased effort, intermittent power steering failure, and a vibrating/shaking steering wheel. Could this be related to wheel alignment or the electronic stability program?

Sounds familiar. I've got an Insignia too, though I can't remember the year. I had something similar happen, and it turned out to be a faulty angle sensor. Have you had any issues with traction control or alignment problems?

Regarding the angle sensor, was the coding faulty in your case as well? And did the symptoms appear gradually or suddenly?

Well, I'm no expert, but the workshop told me the coding was off and that’s what caused it. I don't recall how it came to be, but it certainly was unnerving and made me very anxious. Honestly, I'd get yours checked out by a professional. Might save you a headache.

I appreciate the advice. It seems a defective steering angle sensor is indeed the most probable cause, and I have already scheduled a visit to the workshop. The repair cost is estimated at 195€. Hopefully, this resolves the issue.
