Thanks for the quick reply! No, I haven't checked the battery voltage or health specifically. How would I go about doing that? And if it's the charging system, is there a way to test that without taking it to a mechanic?

Well, you can use a multimeter to check the battery voltage. There are plenty of tutorials online; it's quite straightforward. However, those symptoms are quite worrying. In my case, the faulty battery was the culprit. If you are not too confident with electrics, it would be best to get it checked by a workshop. It could save you a lot of headache. It's worth the peace of mind!

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and you were spot on – the battery was heavily discharged and defective. They replaced it for 290€, and now everything's working perfectly. Really appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Insignia, though it's a diesel. Those symptoms sound very familiar! Did you check the battery health itself? A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. It might also be a problem with the charging system, like the alternator not doing its job properly. Has the battery voltage been checked?
