Inspire electric steering column problem
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Honda Inspire owner experienced an issue with the electric steering column adjustment, which stopped functioning and displayed an error in the memory. The problem was suspected to be due to a faulty cable or plug connection. After consulting a garage, it was confirmed that the issue was indeed a defective connection, which was repaired.

Thanks for the reply! No, nothing obvious happened before it went wrong, just stopped working one day. I need to find out the error code. Is it likely to be a mechanical fault?

It's difficult to say for sure without knowing the error code, but it does sound similar to the issue I had. In my case, it turned out to be a faulty motor in the steering column. I would recommend going to a workshop.

Thanks, I took it to a local garage. They said the error pointed to a defective connection. They fixed the cable for 95€. Fingers crossed it's sorted now!

I had a similar adjustment issue with my Opel a while ago. Was there any specific event that preceded the failure, like a hard jolt or extreme temperature change? The error code is important. Do you know which one it is?
