Inspire engine oil temperature warning light
Summary of the thread
The 2020 Honda Inspire hybrid is experiencing an engine oil temperature warning light and flickering oil pressure light, possibly due to a faulty engine oil temperature sensor. A suggested cause is a bad connection or loose wire to the sensor, which is located near the oil filter on the engine block. Checking the cable and plug for loose connections or corrosion is recommended, but if unsure, consulting a professional mechanic is advised.

Thanks! I'm not great with car electrics. Where's the engine oil temperature sensor located, and how do I check the connection? Just look for a loose wire?

Visually checking the wires is a good start, but sometimes it's corrosion inside the connector. The sensor is screwed into the engine block, usually near the oil filter. Honestly, if you're not comfortable with car electrics, take it to a shop. It’s probably a bad cable or plug, and it'll cost around 95€ to fix. Better safe than sorry!

Thanks for the advice! A bad connection sounds right. I'll take it to a workshop for them to check it out. I appreciate the help!

Hey! Something similar happened with my Inspire. It was a bad connection. Like a loose Christmas tree light wire – one break messes everything up. Have you checked the cable and plug going to the sensor? That's where my problem was.
