Inspire Hybrid Fuel Pump Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Honda Inspire hybrid is experiencing issues with the check engine light, stalling at idle, and reduced power, suspected to be related to fuel delivery. The symptoms, including a drop in fuel economy and a faint whining noise, suggest a failing high-pressure fuel pump and possibly the fuel volume regulator. It is advised to have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic to confirm the diagnosis and prevent further damage.

Whoa, that's spooky similar! Fuel economy has tanked, for sure. And yeah, now that you mention it, there's been a faint whining noise that comes and goes. Conditions? Mostly just normal city driving, nothing crazy. So, you're saying it was definitely the fuel regulator/high pressure pump for you too?

Indeed, it seems we shared a similar fate with our Inspires. The whining noise and the drop in fuel economy further point to a failing high-pressure fuel pump, which then affects the fuel volume regulator. My professional recommendation would be to take your Inspire to a trusted and experienced mechanic for a proper diagnosis and repair. Continuing to drive it in this state could potentially cause further damage. For my car the whole repair including replacing the pump cost me 1510€.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. Thanks a million for confirming my suspicions! I'll get it to the shop ASAP. Turns out it WAS the high-pressure pump and fuel regulator, just like you said. Quoted 1510€ for the whole shebang. Appreciate the help!

I have an Inspire hybrid, and your symptoms sound eerily familiar to an issue I encountered. The check engine light, the stalling, and the power loss are all indicators of fuel delivery problems. Have you noticed any changes in your fuel economy recently, or any unusual noises coming from the engine bay? Also, what kind of driving conditions were you experiencing when the problems first started?
