Inspire transmission shifting issue
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Honda Inspire with 152,781 km is experiencing strange automatic transmission shifting and the transmission light is on, sometimes entering emergency mode. The issue may be related to low battery voltage affecting the car's electronics, including the transmission. A suggested solution is to check the battery voltage and consider a transmission flush. Replacing the battery and performing a transmission flush resolved the problem.

That's interesting. I haven't checked the battery voltage. Could undervoltage really cause these transmission symptoms, even emergency mode? How did you find out the battery was the problem?

Yeah, it's weird. Think of it like the car's brain isn't getting enough power to tell the transmission what to do properly. In my case, the mechanic figured it out. Honestly, I'd suggest getting it checked out at a workshop. They can properly diagnose the electrical system and the transmission itself.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I had the car inspected, and undervoltage was the problem, causing the transmission issues. Replacing the battery and doing a transmission flush fixed it. The total repair cost was 240€. I appreciate your help!

Hey, I had something similar happen in my Inspire. Is it like the car is running through molasses? Felt like the engine was fighting the transmission. Have you checked your battery voltage? Low voltage can cause all sorts of weird issues with modern electronics, including the transmission.
