Integra bypass valve malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Honda Integra is experiencing a bypass valve malfunction and engine overheating. The issue is suspected to be linked to the exhaust system, but further investigation reveals it might be due to a vacuum system problem. The problem is diagnosed as a faulty sensor, not directly related to the bypass valve, and is resolved at no cost.

Mileage is at 216653 km. Yes, I have noticed some power loss, but the engine hasn't stalled yet. What sort of vacuum system issue could trigger all of these errors? Is it a DIY fix?

It's difficult to pinpoint the exact vacuum leak without a proper diagnosis. The power loss combined with overheating leans towards a significant leak affecting engine performance and potentially combustion. I highly suggest taking it to a workshop.

Thank you for the advice. I took it to a workshop as suggested. You were correct; the bypass valve issue was, in fact, a consequential error stemming from a faulty sensor (outside of the bypass valve itself!). Repair cost 0€, as it was an easy fix.

Overheating and a bypass valve error could be related, but it's somewhat indirect. The valve error is likely a consequential error. Are you experiencing any power loss or engine stalling alongside the overheating? What's the mileage?
