Interstar Power Window Failure

I'm having an issue with my 2023 Nissan Interstar, electric engine. It has 219114 km. After replacing the vehicle battery, the power windows stopped working. A diagnostic scan shows an error related to unsuccessful window regulator initialization. It seems the battery replacement has disrupted the system's ability to initialize the window regulators. I've checked all fuses related to the door panel, window regulator, car electronics, and window switch, but no luck. Any ideas?

Summary of the thread

After replacing the battery in a 2023 Nissan Interstar, the power windows stopped working, with a diagnostic scan indicating an error related to unsuccessful window regulator initialization. The issue may stem from the battery replacement disrupting the system's ability to initialize the window regulators. Suggested solutions include attempting a re-initialization procedure by holding the window switch up and down, and if unsuccessful, considering potential CAN bus communication issues or consulting a workshop for further diagnosis.

I had a similar issue with my Interstar, though it was older. Replacing the battery can mess with the car electronics. The window regulator often needs to be re-initialized after power is interrupted. Did you try any specific procedures to re-initialize the window regulators after replacing the battery? Sometimes there's a sequence of holding the window switch up and down that can trigger it. If that doesn't work, it might be a deeper issue with the CAN bus communication.

I tried holding the window switch up and down for several seconds, as suggested online. It didn't work. Could you explain more about the CAN bus communication issues you mentioned? I'm not familiar with that.

The CAN bus, or Controller Area Network bus, is the central nervous system of modern vehicles. It allows different electronic control units (ECUs), like the one that controls the window regulator, to communicate. If the CAN bus is disrupted, the window switch might not be able to send the signal to the window regulator, or the regulator might not be able to respond. Since you've tried the basic re-initialization and checked the fuses, a CAN bus issue or a problem with the window regulator itself is possible. I'd suggest consulting with a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis. After doing some research, the repair may cost around 290€.

Thank you for the explanation and guidance. Your insights into the CAN bus communication and the window regulator system have been helpful. I will seek assistance from a workshop to diagnose these issues. Hopefully, the error in the error memory will be fixed. Thanks again!
