Ioniq 5 parking brake error
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is experiencing an electronic parking brake error, with the handbrake not functioning and a warning light on the dashboard. The issue is suspected to be caused by a faulty motor in the brake caliper. A similar problem was resolved by replacing the motor, and it is advised to take the vehicle to a workshop for repair.

It came on pretty suddenly, yeah. One minute all good, next minute the car's complaining about the parking brake. Did yours do the same?

Yep, almost identical. Turned out to be a faulty motor in the brake caliper, like you suspected. Honestly, I'd get it to a workshop, it's not something to mess with. Cost me about 500€ to sort out, but worth it for peace of mind (and working brakes!).

Thanks for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the shop then. Appreciate the help, knowing someone else had the same issue makes it a bit less stressful.

Sounds familiar. I've got an Ioniq 5 too, and I had a similar issue last year. Was completely stumped. Did the light come on suddenly, or was there a gradual thing?
