Ioniq 5 system readiness check incomplete

I've got a 2021 Hyundai Ioniq 5 (electric) with about 165k km on it. Recently, I've been getting an error message on the speedometer saying the system readiness check is incomplete. There's an error stored in the error memory too. I had the car hooked up to an OBD2 reader a little while ago – could that be the cause?

Summary of the thread

A 2021 Hyundai Ioniq 5 owner reported an error message indicating an incomplete system readiness check, possibly triggered by using an OBD2 reader. This device might have interrupted the system readiness tests. The suggested solution was to perform a complete drive cycle or visit a workshop. The issue was resolved by having the error cleared at a shop, restoring the vehicle to normal operation.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Yes, it's quite possible that using an OBD2 reader triggered it. Sometimes, these devices can interrupt the system readiness tests. Have you tried running a complete drive cycle to see if it clears?

A drive cycle? Not sure what that is. Could you explain a bit more?

The error is very likely caused by the OBD2 diagnostics. However, without a complete system readiness, you won't pass vehicle inspection. I'd advise taking it to a workshop and have them take a look.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out you were right. Took it to the shop, they cleared the error, and everything is fine now. No cost at all!
